How does the debt collection process work?
A background check is conducted on the debtor before we take on a case. Once we have deemed the debt collectable, we will either do an external or an internal collection. External collection is a face-to-face visit, and an internal collection is done via telephone and email correspondence.

What fees or charges are involved in the debt collection process, and who is responsible for paying them?
Each case we take on is evaluated before we quote, but there is an initial upfront fee charged and a collection commission charged as and when funds are recovered.
What are the chances of successfully recovering the debt?
No debt is guaranteed; however, we make every effort to recover the outstanding money owed.
How long does the debt collection process usually take?
Each case is different – some cases are finalized very quickly, but bigger cases can take a few months to complete.
Can you help with collecting both commercial and consumer debts?
We do both private and corporate collections.
What methods do you use to collect debts?
We offer face-to-face visits for larger cases. Smaller cases hare dealt with internally via telephone and email correspondence.
What if the debtor disputes the debt? How will you handle that situation?
When there is a dispute, we would request written proof from the debtor to substantiate the dispute, failing which we proceed with legal action of default listing.
Can you collect debts from individuals or businesses located in different states or countries?

How do you ensure that you are following all relevant debt collection laws and regulations?
We are a registered member of the Council for Debt Collectors of South Africa and are compelled to abide by their guidelines.
What kind of communication can I expect during the debt collection process? Will I be updated regularly?
The client is given regular updates on the progress of the case. As and when there is communication from the debtor, the client receives an updated report.
What happens if the debtor declares bankruptcy?
A debtor would need to provide proof of bankruptcy failing which we will follow the legal process of default listing on all the major credit bureaus.
How do you handle debtors who are unresponsive or difficult to reach?
Should a debtor fail to respond to our attempts to meet/liaise with them regarding the debt, we will follow the legal process of default listing on all major credit bureaus.

How do you handle sensitive or confidential information during the collection process?
As we deal with a lot of personal and sensitive information, we are very discreet and respectful to both our client as well as the debtor.
Will you report the collected debt to credit bureaus?
Should a debtor default on an arranged payment arrangement or fail to respond to our attempts to discuss the debt we will proceed with legal action resulting in default listing on all major credit bureaus. Once the debt has been settled in full, we will request a removal of the listing.
What happens if the debtor can only pay in instalments?
If a payment plan is arranged and agreed to by our client, we manage that payment plan monthly into our Trust account. We also draft an acknowledgement of debt which is signed by both the debtor and our client.
Do you offer any guarantees on debt recovery?
No debt is guaranteed; however, we handle each case with our very best effort to recover the money outstanding to our clients.
How do you handle disputes or conflicts with the debtor?
Proof of the reason for disputes are requested from the debtor which are then assessed, and due process is followed to resolve the dispute.
What are your policies on the division of recovered funds if multiple creditors are involved?
We will endeavor to collect the correct amount for each creditor, paid into our trust account and each creditor is paid less our collection commission once the funds have cleared.
